design a canadian native style buffalo illustration.

bruce is a brother and friend, and has stood by me in some crazy and good situations over the years. i was honored that he asked me to help him commemorate some important steps in his life journey by creating this design.

the original began as a sketch in pencil, some digital mock-ups, and then the final version was hand-drawn in ink and colored digitally. at bruce’s request, the buffalo design and color scheme was inspired by a painting i created several years earlier. the feathers and shield / drum designs are traditional to the style of art and have my own twists incorporated for sweetness.
