japan focus school currently runs once a year from late september to early march

the school consists of two terms, the lecture phase and the outreach phase

• lecture phase location: kona, hawaii (the big island)
  term: from late september to mid december
• outreach phase location: various locations in japan
  term: from mid december to early march
