February 2008
Welcome to the February edition of the 2008 AIS Elementary newsletter!
We are having an exciting and challenging year!
Our Elementary theme words for the year are:
Tenderheart / Compassion
The verse for our theme is from Ephesians chapter 4 verse 32:
"Be kind to each other, tenderhearted and compassionate, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you."
Our slogan from the verse: "Be kind and compassionate"
This months events and announcements:
- Birthdays - yay!
- Progress portfolios are going home on February 1st. Please look at them and celebrate together, parents write a comment for your child, and return them by next week.
- We will start our new school-wide discipline plan this quarter. The plan is inspired by the book of Proverbs and the goal is to build wisdom through consistent positive choices. Elementary students have been researching and assisting in the implementation of the plan. Parents, please help students look for opportunities to make wise choices at home as well.
- Skateclub information has gone home with students 7 years old and up. The new mini-ramp will be open Mondays for AIS students 7 years old and up and there will be a drop-in skate for parents or staff as well. Eligible students must have their permission forms in before they can participate. Please see mr.dave for more information.

Jesus taught us to pray...
Our Papa in heaven,
You are so good and very cool.
Help us show others that you love them,
and help us listen to you.
Give us what we need today.
Forgive us for our mistakes and selfishness
as we forgive others who hurt us.
Keep us from trouble
and protect us from danger.
Thank you!
