january 16-22

hung out with some people at a homeless ministry after church, ate lunch with them

late afternoon we went to the super sento...we're talkin 100's of thousands of square feet of internationally themed bath areas...ladies got the europe floor, guys got the asia floor...goodtimes

spent some time hanging out with high school students and making connections in umeda for the fashion page, five of us spoke at a multicultural meeting on thursday, helped out at the church with stuff, friday we went to a school and taught english, in the evening we split up and went to our homestays for a couple of days

january 9-15

travelled to nagahama and stayed overnight at a church, helped out with a church service, had a great meal, travelled back to osaka base to do laundry

worked on some print material to give to new friends, connected with staff and shoppers in amerika mura

attended an ecumenical prayer meeting in a newly renovated church in suita, met some more new people in umeda and namba

january 2-8

built custom scaffolding to remove a tree from the roof of a house at mikazuki (japan christian prayer mountain), cut firewood with chainsaws and stuff...

went to a sento (japanese bathhouse), visited a church in okayama, took the train to hiroshima, stayed overnight and visited the peace memorial with some new friends... photos

travelled to himeji by train and toured the castle, met the manager of a claire's in himeji who had awesome style

cut some more firewood at mikazuki, hit up the bathhouse then had a huge meal at a chinese restaurant

december 26-january 1

on the 26th some of the crew hit up the underlounge and a secret location after hours, met some cool people in the hip hop dance scene, took the morning train back to the base at 5:45am...

travelled to mikazuki (japan christian prayer mountain) by train and vehicle and helped clean up leaves and trees downed in a typhoon at the retreat centre on the mountain, enjoyed some snow, participated in the new years services praying for japan, had a new years '80s party...

december 19-25

travelled to osaka by overnight bus, hung out at the YWAM osaka base (kanmaki stn), checked out umeda, helped our church advertise for the christmas program, did some personal stories and dramatic dances for three christmas services, had a great christmas dinner (sushi) at church, explored the train lines inadvertantly late at night, had our own christmas at the base, nate and chris chilled with us for the week...

december 12-17

flew from hawaii to japan on the 17th, chilled out at YWAM ome base for a couple of days, checked out shibuya, hung out with some skaters, rockabillies, goths, and baby doll stylers at harajuku...sweet...
