Revelation 4:8 – “HOLY, HOLY, HOLY: YAHWEH GOD, THE ALMIGHTY, WHO WAS AND WHO IS AND WHO IS TO COME.”
I. The Bad News: Humanity’s Sin and Separation from God
Romans 3:10-12 – “As it is written, ‘There is none righteous, not even one; there is none who understands, there is none who seeks for God; all have turned aside, together they have become worthless; there is none who does good, not even one.’”
Romans 8:7 – “Because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so.”
Colossians 1:21 – “And although you were formerly alienated and hostile in mind, engaged in evil deeds…”
Isaiah 59:2 – “But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear.”
Romans 3:23 – “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
II. The Good News: Christ’s Death and Resurrection
Romans 6:23b – “…but the gracious gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
1 Corinthians 15:1-5 – “Now I make known to you, brothers, the gospel which I proclaimed as good news to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, by which also you are saved…that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He appeared to [Peter], then to the twelve.”
Romans 5:8 – “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
1 Peter 3:18 – “For Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, so that He might bring you to God…”
John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
2 Peter 3:9 – “The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some consider slowness, but is patient toward you, not willing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.”
III. The Call and Response: Believe in Him and be saved
Acts 17:26-27 – “And He made from one man every nation of mankind to inhabit all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation, that they would seek God, if perhaps they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us;”
Acts 17:30-31 – “Therefore having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now commanding men that everyone everywhere should repent because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He determined, having furnished proof to all by raising Him from the dead.”
Hebrews 9:27 – “It is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment.”
Revelation 16:7 – “Yes, O Lord God, the Almighty, true and righteous are Your judgments.”
2 Corinthians 6:2 – “Behold, now is ‘the acceptable time,’ behold, now is ‘the day of salvation.’”
Hebrews 4:7 – “TODAY IF YOU HEAR HIS VOICE, DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS.”
Mark 10:15 – “Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all.”
John 6:29 – “Jesus answered and said to them, ‘This is the work that God requires, that you believe in Him whom He has sent.’”
John 5:24 – “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.”
