redesign the project skateboard co. pirates of skim logo.

the skimboarding division of project skateboard and ramp design co. was well underway by early 2004.
the original logo needed a bit of beefing up to go with the sketchy, d.i.y. style of the pirates of skimm.
the goal of this project was to create a revised logo based on the original pirates logo that could be used for web, print, and skimboard production.

in the spirit of the original project skates products, the creative process was fun and followed an interesting workflow.
at first, the concept logo was sketched a few times and cut out of card stock in stencil form until a suitable form was achieved.
then the stencil was placed over raw carbon fibre sheet (used in the manufacture of skimboards) and photographed, then scanned and digitized before being rendered as a vector drawing.
some of the photographed versions were used in the web site as well.
