having a portfolio site to serve as a personal record as well as an interface to potential clients has been a goal for some time now. the first version of the site was limited in function and scope and lacked the ease of expansion and management of the wordpress platform. the list of projects needing proper homes in a portfolio numbers in the hundreds, so we are stoked to see the process begin and will continue adding both past and current work to the site as time permits.

peakfitness.ca is a personal training and fitness company located in waterloo, ontario, canada. the project goal was to design and write content for a new brochure and business cards. the colors and layout needed to fit in with other company promotional material and branding, but bring a fresh, eye-catching, and client-centered style to the mix. peakfitness provided the photos and concept and project77 provided the layout, content editing, illustrated map, and print-ready .pdf files.

drsfriesen is a creator and publisher of educational books related to north american native history, art, and culture. this book is an illustrated children’s collection of native first-peoples origin stories and legends. the illustration style is based on petroglyphs and pictographs.

this legend story book is the sixth in a series of educational children’s books of north american native legends illustrated by davej for drsfriesen.

in 2007, the passau chapter of smd.org contacted us to create a new flyer to replace their aging desktop publishing special. the flyer needed to attract attention, communicate the purpose and goals of the campus group, and provide the calendar schedule of events for the year.

the goal of this project was to update the half-page flyer to reflect the current schedule of events and add new contact information. working with german text made it necessary for both parties to take extra care in the content creation and editing stages.

davej created the original flyer design for the group in 2007

tamaki and davej were invited by the recreational director of the town of westlock, ab, canada to design and create a large graf-style mural in the local skatepark. the project was completed within a twenty-four hour period, and required approximately ten hours of painting time. featured characters include mochi the bear and a marshmallow ninja.

special thanks to albert and dorothy lyons who generously supplied all of the paint and equipment for the project.

this mural is the second graf work contributed to the westlock skatepark by davej / projectskates, the first was in 2007, shortly after its opening.

while the original ais logo represents the story of the school well, it contains gradients and small text which make its use in black and white, silkscreen, and small print applications challenging. the goal of this project was to create a mini logo using elements of the official logo that could be used to complement smaller print applications and easier adapted to single or double color screen printing.

as part of the official school logo re-design, the dove had to be re-drawn and split into layers that would be suitable for screen printing. several variations of the mini logo have been used on the school handbook, p.e. shorts, and office documents and forms.

this logo was included as part of the official logo re-design project.

ashiya international school hosts an annual school day camp for kindergarten and elementary students during the summer. each year has its own theme and students and staff receive a logo t-shirt for their session. the setting for 2009 was a railroad in the outback of australia and the theme was “boomerang express”.

this logo is the fourth summer school t-shirt designed for ais by davej, the first was in 2006.
